Sunday 5elect – Vol. 003

Welcome to this week’s edition of Sunday 5elect, where Economix readers get insight into the top five tracks dominating my headphones right now. This week has a chill, upbeat vibe to help you enjoy the last couple weeks of summer. Enjoy below.

1. FRND- Friend

FRND has crafted us a catchy little song to with a melancholy message we can all relate to. Not much is known about this LA-based artist – this is the first track he’s ever posted – but if it’s a preview of what’s to come then I’m excited. The production on this song is fantastic, the music is simple and beautiful, and the message may provide a bit of needed catharsis in your life.

2. RL Grime – Core (TRAILS Flip)

TRAILS keeps it short and sweet with this unique take on RL Grime’s EDM anthem “Core”. The original is one of the hardest hitting trap songs out there, and to flip it into such an upbeat track with positive vibes is an impressive feat.

3. EDEN – rock + roll

This is a track you’ll want to give a hard listen to. EDEN’s passionate vocals have a home-recorded vibe that intertwines perfectly with filtered guitar riffs to create an emotional journey. I would love to see this guy live.

4. Win & Woo – Recognize (feat. Ashe)

Win & Woo have come a long way since the days of Phoebe Ryan remixes and tropical house vibes. The Chicago-based duo have released their debut original “Recognize” and it’s a well-polished indie pop track that’s bound to blow up. Catchy horns pair with sultry vocals to create an energetic, intense, and fun vibe.

5. Martin Solveig – MyHouse July August 2016 Mix

European EDM legend Martin Solveig welcomes you into his house with this hard-hitting hourlong mix that is extremely danceable and perfect for getting to work (on the dancefloor or otherwise). Dotted with playful commentary and filled with high quality beats, this is one of the best mixes I’ve ever heard.

Let me know what you think!
