Recently I’ve been getting into more soulful electronica. I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s because I like how the soulful vocals contrast with the stereotypes about electronic music being inherently robotic, or maybe I’m getting older and relating with the song’s messages more. Either way, this song fits the bill. London-based singer-songwriter Ava James’ powerful vocals contrast nicely with a chill Leo Kaylan production that keeps the focus on the vocals but accentuates them at every opportunity. You really notice how well this duo pulls it off when the song breaks into its first chorus. Enjoy the song below, I look forward to hearing more from Ms. James.
