Just yesterday the Glasgow-based synth-pop trio CHVRCHES released their first single since their debut 2013 LP The Bones of What You Believe. I loved their first album, with my only complaint being that the songs were too similar to each other. I loved that sound regardless and had songs like “The Mother We Share” and “Gun” on repeat for months. I’m very happy to hear CHVRCHES’ new song takes a slightly different vibe but it’s very hard to put my finger on what’s changed. All I do know is that I’m obsessed with the soaring vocals in the chorus and the simmering, low-key energy in the verses. Enjoy the track below and keep an eye out for their sophomore album Every Open Eye coming out on September 15.
P.S. – The album art is pretty sweet too.
