HOLYCHILD – Money All Around

Released two months ago, this track dives into the world of glitchy-grimy alt-pop. Soaring vocals accompany a heavy bass and quick snare for the first verse, but this song doesn’t really hit you until the chorus. Powerful, simple chords dominate the refrain and we get to hear an all too rare example of a female vocalist telling you to take your clothes off for money. This song drove it home for me with the oscillating edited vocals at the end of the chorus. Pay special attention to the bridge in between choruses two and three where Liz Nistico, the band’s vocalist, shows off a softer side. Holychild is currently on tour to build hype for their upcoming debut album called The Shape Of Brat Pop To Come dropping on June 2nd. Check their schedule out here.

Note: Their sound kind of reminds me of Purity Ring. They have the same band structure, too (male instrumentalist, female vocalist).
